I'm not sure about that movie list as being all shot in Kauai. Perhaps portions of them were, but some of those films were shot primarily on some of the other islands.
I enjoyed the Diversity you can be diving at the Tunnels up on the North West side and then take a drive to the SouthWest Corner and get dried out on the Nice Sandy Beach North of the Base.
Once you learn the back roads around the Towns along the way you avoid a lot of traffic back ups which is a good thing.
The drive up to the Jurrasic Park movie shoot site can be a challenge plenty of Mud back in the Jungle there.

Very rare that a movie is shot in one location. I just read that "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" was the first movie shot entirely outside the US on location in Mexico. But that is rare. Interior shots are usually done in studio. The list I posted are probably movies where the exterior locations were important based on the theme of the movie. For example, and one of my favorites, "Donovan's Reef" plot takes place on a "South Seas paradise" so naturally an island was chosen for exterior shots. btw, all exterior shots were shot in Kauai, no other island. Interior shots were made at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

Per the New York Times:
Quote:
The Treasure of the Sierra Madre was one of the first Hollywood films to be filmed almost entirely on location outside the United States (in the state of Durango and street scenes in Tampico, Mexico), although the night scenes were filmed back in the studio.
And local legend says that a couple of scenes were reshot in Griffith Park, but I haven't been able to conform that.

Did you check out the Kaua'i Film Commission list I posted? It appears to be more current.
What is the VOG situation like on Kaua'i? Is any place there or any of the islands for that matter, free from the wrath of Pele?
Mahalo for any detailed info you may have.
Vog happens occasionally on Kaua'i, when the winds are such that it blows in from the Big Island. I think all islands are affected at those times, because the plume of vog blows down the island chain. On Kaua'i, it lasts from 1 to 5 days. For example, last October had almost a week of low visibility (haze) due to the vog. It is more diluted than when it hits the Big Island, but sensitive people were still complaining about scratchy throats and watery eyes.
Fortunately, it only happens during SE winds, which are fairly rare between the dominant tradewinds (NE) and occasional Kona (SW) winds. You can see a forecast based on computer modeling here:
