I am from Kaua'i and I grew up camping and riding "sand" on Polihale Beach. Yknow it's not my favorite beach as I grew up on Kaua'is North Shore---so I just prefer more green and lush scenery. But locals, whether mixed plate or haole--all go down there to play in the sand with their big trucks, dune buggys, quads you name it. But that's not an everyday thing, usually weekends. Hope that helps.
