You do realize 98% of the people working for these companies are people who went there to get away from it all right?

I am not from Hawaii but I saw the thread in passing because I recognize the thought. I too have a high stress 6 figure job. Many times I think about walking out because I wonder if its worth the stress.

Here are my thoughts if your serious:

- do you have children
- are you married

- I assume you have a house and all the fixings. If so, i recommend downsizing first.

- can you afford it, i.e. do you have a large debt. Can you pay it off in a short time

- how about an extended vacation vs resigning

- Are you fully educated. I ask in case you need to restart your career.

Finally, to be honest, I am jealous. Good luck!

You shouldn't try to use pidgin when you have no idea what you are talking about.

The proper term, grasshopper, is "Aunty". You've got a lot to learn.

Better idea, pay off all your debts with your six figure income and then save up enough to buy a few boats and start a boat tour business somewhere. Being the owner is even better than being the captain and way better than being a swabbie. You can always work on the boats if you want if you own them.

HUH?????

The guy called me "brah". I corrected him. I'm not a man. And now you are insulting me for correcting him? I've lived here seven years and he's visited a time or two. And why are you calling me names?

its not like I didnt like it.. its just that it was my least favorite island. still liked it tho.

but im willing to bet it was because of the weather when i went. first impressions are HUGE... when I went, i only stayed for 3 days and it was cloudy and rainy most of the time except for when we went to Poipu.

i need to give it another shot and stay a good 8 days to get a better feel for it.
