Default Apartments in NKY (Cold Spring, Alexandria, Ft. Thomas)

Hi all. Just got word I'm relocating to NKY. I'll be working in the northern part of Alexandria, and had a few questions.

1) What locations should I look at. I'm a single guy, and moving alone. I want an area with some things going on. I'm not into the bar scene, but I wouldn't mind being near to a nice Baptist church. I should mention I'm 22, relocating for work, not school.

2) Whats a reasonable rate for an apartment in the area. I'm looking for something modern, clean, and well kept. A 1BR would be plenty for me. A decent neighborhood is a must, I don't feel like having to sleep with a pistol on my nightstand

3) What should utilities cost?

I think that's it, I know I asked alot, and it could vary widely, but I'm just looking for a best guess. If I've got anything else I'll ask, and thanks in advance!

Glen Hollow Apartments For Rent in Alexandria, Kentucky - Apartment Rental and Community Details - ForRent.com

I just shared that link in another thread. My daughter lives there in a two bedroom. I do know that she and her roommate just paid $100 for electric this past month. According to my daughter, they keep the place very cool... so I would assume a one bedroom and more economical use of AC would be $75 at most.

That sounds reasonable. I honestly rarely use AC, I prefer a fan by far, but when the nightly low is over 75 it ends up that you just blow hot air around.

Thanks for the reply, I'm visiting with my dad on Monday, I'll take a stop by.

That apartment is extremely close to where I'll be working. Do you know if your daughters apartment came furnished with a washer and dryer, or is it just the hook up? Also, do you know if it's a younger crowd there? Quiet?

I know I'm asking a lot, but it's really tougher apartment hunting from 350 miles away.

Southbound, There are washer and dryer hook ups in the apt, but they don't furnish the washer and dryer. My daughter and her roommate chose not to buy any at this point and they're doing their laundry off site.... that's a pain, but manageable.

The apts appear to be made up of a variety of folks from college students to families. There's also a couple of police officers that live there that I've seen. The only negative I personally would have is that the bedrooms are small. The living room (at least in her floor plan) is huge. The kitchen/dining area fairly small but livable. Oh, and they have fireplaces!

Oh, and you asked about quiet. They actually have rules about noise after certain hours. My daughter doesn't quite understand that.... but I told her if she was one of the families with a couple of young kids, she would!!

Great, thanks for the tips. If they have a referral program where you get money to refer, and I decide to stay there I'll send you a message!
