I live in Middlesboro now. Yes, there are ALOT of Drs. who take Medicaid & Medicare (most all of them that I know). Tenn. and Va. is just a drive through the tunnel. We have 2 hospitals (one in Pineville which is 12 miles). If you need to go to Knoxville, it's an hour drive. The people are really friendly here, and you don't have to worry about children being shot at by gangs (don't know of any). I moved here almost 21 years ago to raise my family, and I love it here. No water restrictions! I think you would be very happy here - in the "Crater" city. It's suppose to be formed from a huge meteorite. You can go on the mountain and stand in three states at one time.
It has a small mall, and couple on mini-malls, 24-hr. Wal-Mart, and just about everything you will need.

I live in Middlesboro, have for 27 years, raised my children here, and I love it. You were wondering about the water. It is so pure! It comes from Fern Lake. You must go see it, just beautiful! The water alert has been lifted now. This month was the only time in my 27 years of living here that there has ever been any kind of water conservation alert. Good luck.
