Hello - MY wife and I are looking to retire in KY in about 2 years.
Trying to find out additional information regarding best areas to live.
I have sent messages to local chambers of Commerce but have yet to get replies.
Looking for a home in a relatively small town preferably in the western or
southern part of the state.

Any advise on possible towns to move to?

Thankyou

Murray is often listed as a top retirement community. Many of the surrounding town are equally as well nice places to live, like Benton, Mayfield and Paducah.

Really depends on what you are looking for in a town.

Considering relocation to Louisville, KY from Atlanta, GA. I'm a single mom with a 4 yr. old child. I'd appreciate any kind of feedback regarding schools, good neighborhoods to live in, WINTER WEATHER, housing, and once I get settled and want to start dating.....what's the dating scene like there? Appreciate any and all comments. Thanks.

Well, Glasgow,KY just about 40 Min.. from Bowling Green is the top small town in the USA to live in. It has a population of around the 40,000 mark(barren county) with the area around it including Bowling Green, more in the 200,000 range. Lots to do. Caves, Barren River/Lake, Shopping/Casual Dining in Bowling Green. Glasgow has anything a city of its size would have. A movie theatre, any fast food, Lowe's, Goody's, and others. Very likeable & to my knowledge wealthy for a city of it's size. I would stay on the North Side. That is were most of the larger neighborhoods are with new homes. The lake is on the south side, near Scottsville, KY, which is also 30 min. from Bowling Green and 30 min. from Glasgow. Scottsville would be good if you like a very small town.

Agree with you. The Land Between the Lakes is a beautiful area.

Please look up Madisonville, Ky. It has such a great location, and the bigger cities are not very far away if you need to go. Its about 45 min. from Owensboro, Ky., 30 min. to Henderson, an hour to Evansville, In. and an hour from Bowling Green, Ky. If you want to visit Ky Lake, it isn't but a short drive there as well. Very Pretty Town, and growing too!!
