I know there is a wide difference of opinion, but was hoping three or four brands would be more prevalent than the rest.

I drink Evan Williams. Cheap, smooth, not as bad as Heaven Hill.

For a mid-tier every day kind of bourbon, I like just regular old Buffalo Trace. For an upper end treat from a smaller distillery, I love Old Pogue. I mix cheap stuff!

Somebody mentioned Jim Beam earlier. Don't know about their bourbon since I don't drink but when we went by there a few years ago, their lemonade was nice and cold! lol

I love my bourbon on the rocks with a splash of water...my favorites are Basil Hayden, Blanton's, Knob Creek, and Woodford. They are all under $45 and almost as good as the real expensive bourbons. Enjoy...

My "I've bought this more than once and expect to buy it again someday" list, using prices as I'd expect to find them in Kentucky:

Under $20 - Four Roses (regular label)
$20-$30 - Knob Creek, Maker's Mark
$30-$40 - Maker's 46, Woodford Reserve, Elmer T. Lee
Above that - Blanton's, Van Winkle anything
