I agree, I haven't been over there as much as I would like but when I have visited I am just in awe of the beauty of that place.

tour the toyota plant but don't set foot in jefferson county.
go to keeneland but no mention of churchill downs? is the author afraid of the one island of culture in this entire state or does he really just hate the cardinals? eat a tomato? really? that's a bucket list item for kentucky?
at least he mentioned the gorge. the rest of this list sounds like it is for people who have already kicked that bucket.

Well they didn't mention touring the Corvette plant or museum either and most people would much rather see a Corvette in production than a Toyota...lol. I get what you mean though. There are at least 100 more you could easily add to that list.

I'm the first guy on here to boost improvements for infrastructure in Central and Northern Kentucky b/c those are the state's most important and largest economic engines. However, InLondon and kentuckydad95 are right: there's more to KY than just Lou. and Lex. Shame he didn't point that out very well in the article.

yeah, didn't see that. just read the list. and btw, i know there are a great many things to see and do outside of lou and lex. eating a tomato or touring a toyota plant are not among them.

It's hard for us to imagine, but some people have never eaten a homegrown tomato right off the vine. As simple a pleasure as that is, I would hate to have missed it.

Dixie I used to work for the KYDOT. One year when we were blacktopping some rural roads one of the flaggers happened to be standing about 10 feet from a huge garden. The homeowner was watching the job being done so the flagger asked if he could have a couple tomatoes off the vine. Homeowner said no problem. By the time we moved down the road to the next patch, that flagger had eaten 6 tomatoes! He said the only thing that would have made them better was if he had his salt and pepper shaker (mixed them both up in the same shaker) out of his lunch box. lol
