Smile Info on Liberty or Casey County???

Hello,
I am new to forums in general, but am hoping that this is a medium that will help me find out more about the Liberty Kentucky / Casey County area. I am considering relocating to the area but want to know what actually living there is like.

Thanks

Ask me again in about 8 months. My husband and I bought 60 Acres there two years ago. Up until now we have only visited a couple of times a year. Prior to our purchase the previous owner had an agreement to let a nearby Amish farmer keep his cows there. We have continued this arrangement and he has been very good to us in return by keeping an eye on the property, giving us all kinds of information about the area as well as giving us a referral to a neighbor who is a custom home contractor. Everyone we have met so far have been extremely friendly and helpful. We are now in the process of building our new home on the property and depending on the winter weather....it will be done in March / April.

Can't wait to get there !

I lived in Casey the first 14 years of my life. I have been gone for 10 years and I still miss it a great deal. Almost all of my extended family still live there. In and around Liberty and in other areas of the county.

Default Relatives From Casey Co.

Hello,
I am a native of south central Ky. I grew up about sixty miles west of Liberty in LaRue County. My mother was born and raised in Casey County and I come there to visit often. Liberty is a small town with a population of approx. 2000, and it is the county seat of Casey County. It is a typical small town with a few local restaurants and a few of the typical fast food restaurants. You will have to drive about 30 miles to Danville or Somerset to find a much larger selection of dining out and shopping. Lexington is about 75 miles north of Liberty. If you are looking for a small town, in a rural setting, where the people are warm and friendly with good ole down home Kentucky hospitality, then Liberty just may be the place for you.
