Relocating to Kentucky
Good afternoon,
My husband and I would like to relocate to Kentucky. He is currently a professional truck driver with Summit Trucking out of Clarksville, IN. Could someone please suggest a nice area for us to live that is over 60 miles from his terminal? He wants to bring his truck home that is why the 60+ miles distance. I am in the customer service field and have worked in the medical office field as well. I am not very familiar with Kentucky but am from South Carolina originally now living in GA. We thought of Bowling Green or Lexington or somewhere like those cities. We just want to live in a good town/nice neighbor hood. We will be renting to start with preferrably a house. We do have pets (one puppy and a kitty inside and some outside puppies as well). All help will be greatly appreciated.

I would look at Carrollton KY. 1/2 way between Louisville & Cincy. It will be right on 60 miles (Carrollton is exit 45 on I-71 which counts up from I-65 at the Kennedy Bridge in Downtown Louiville)

Thank you for your reply. Is Carrollton a good town? Nice neighborhood's, churches, employment? Does it have good rental property. We really don't want to buy just yet. Please tell me all that you can about the town. All help is really appreciated. I have only been to KY once in my life and I am not sure where I went. I know it was something to do with buying a Tennessee Walking horse.

Relocating from GA to Georgetown
Since my last post I have checked out Georgetown. This looks like it would be a nice place to live. How is the work environment there? As I stated before I am an office person ie: customer service, medical billing, medical coding...etc. How is the rental market as far as houses are concerned preferably 2 BR, 1.5 - 2 Bath, fenced back yard, etc?

My sisters both live in Scott Co. One on east side other west. They will tell you that Georgetown isn't the place it used to be, but it's only 12 miles to Lexington and other than high cost of living, it still is quite a place. My daughter went to Georgetown College. My mother moved there (to be with the girls) after Dad died and had a thriving art store until she passed away. So, yes we like Georgetown, too. Midway along I-64 is similar.
