Can anyone provide me with any info. on Austin,Ky.? I am retired and thinking about buying a place there on a few acres.Tornados?crime? Any information at all will be greatly appreciated.

Kentucky rarely gets the big tornadoes like Alabama does. If you're in a house (rather than a mobile home) I really doubt your life will ever been threatened by a tornado. KY actually has fewer tornadoes on average than Ohio. Seems like the bad outbreaks always occurr south or north of us.

I don't think crime would be a big problem in Barren County at all. Bowling Green area is a nice area with a lot of shopping and a growing economy.

Ohio certainly does get more tornadoes than Kentucky. Really, tornadoes in Kentucky are mainly only a concern in the western part of the state. A tornado in Eastern KY is very rare and when there is one it's usually just a short lived EF0.
