To answer in short, NKY is part of Cincinnati, so it really should not get its own forum. But NKY is the only area with enough traffic to possibly deserve its own forum.

The same can be said for Louisville and its burbs, which really extend from Etown/Ft Knox on the south side of the CSA and go all the way to Scottsburg, IN.

That said, the traffic on the KY forums in general is low enough that other sub-forums are not required, yet.

I would encourage many interested in NKY to post in the Cincy forums and those interested in New Albany, IN to Ft Knox KY post in the Louisville forum.

I would also argue that posts regarding Richmond, Georgetown, and possibly even Frankfort belong in the Lexington forum.

But, folks are free to choose where they want to post in the KY forum if it does not involve the consolidated cities of Louisville or Lexington.
I generally agree with you; I just wanted to stir some conversation about this topic and hopefully get some ideas brewing.

I still wouldn't be against an NKY forum, although I totally respect that it can fall either w/in the KY or Cincinnati forums given its location. I still have no regrets about voting for it.

So...with that being the case, that leaves the Cumberland Falls and Bowling Green regions. It seems like a fairly equal number, without major difference, of posters inquiring about each area. Bowling Green is closer to Nashville and is a major college town, but Cumberland Falls has a couple of good "hometown" posters in InLondon (yes, I really am admitting that, even if he doesn't about me) and rbryant.

If even new sub-forum(s) aren't created now, I can imagine the justification for it/them within a couple of years. I ask the moderator to keep that in mind! Not all of Kentucky's growth, however steady it may be, is concentrated toward Greater Louisville (Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt, Shelby, Hardin), Greater Lexington (Fayette, Jessamine, Scott, Madison), and mostly one county in Northern Kentucky (Boone, scattered parts of Kenton).

I know this is from the Kentucky State Data Center at UofL. I've seen it before and even been presented w/ it by the director of the center himself!

Notice how the darkest red concentrations are, generally, the areas I mentioned, and the peach-colored areas are, generally, some exurban areas around Lou., Lex., and N. Ky., as well as the smaller regions I've mentioned in this thread (B.G. and Cumberland Falls).

Trigg, Fleming and Casey Counties are really the only odd outliers amongst the "peaches."

Who, in this forum, couldn't possibly know that I am rotten, low-down, uncouth, and nasty?

FYI:

West Virginia now has sub-forums for Charleston, Huntington and Morgantown. Who the hell is clamoring to move to WV? Charleston and Huntington are only 60 miles apart.

Hawaii now has four sub-forums. Hawaii has fewer than two million residents and isn't growing that rapidly.

Just something to think about...
