I'm not talking all fans obviously; in fact, some of my closest friends and dearest family members are die-hard UK fans and they're great people. But the events early this month in Lexington actually made me laugh at my own home state.

I disagree.
The WORST fans I have ever seen are a tie between Southern Indiana Indy Colts fans, Philly Eagles fans, and Steelers fans.
Football fans are FAR worse than college b-ball fans, IMO.

Not exactly true. We care about Ohio for two things. King's Island and Cedar Point!
Other than that, they can go away for all I care.

As an Illinoisan, I might weigh in... From polls I've seen of Chicago NCAA fans and St. Louis NCAA fans, I'd say the breakdown is like this:
Chicago: 40% Illini, 20% Notre Dame, 30% Other Big Ten schools, 10% other
St. Louis: 65% Missouri, 25% Illinois, 10% other
Would UI get booed at Wrigley Field in Chicago? Absolutely not. They'd be cheered wildly ... but they might get some boos in St. Louis.

I don't understand all the hatred of UK Wildcats. That is a shame that happened. I would be embarrassed if I was there. Poor sportsmanship.
