As I said, I'd be delighted to be proved wrong and your post may have done that. But again, it's almost like you're talking about an oasis in Paducah. In other words, they'll be fine within city limits but could have some concerns out in the county or in neighboring counties.

Muslims Welcome in West Kentucky!
Hello! I grew up in Cadiz (just south of McCracken County), and I think that people will be very welcoming! When I was 4 years old, I moved to Trigg County from St. Louis. This was 1981. Things were very different then. People were not always so sure about what you were saying and if you were trying to trick them!
But in todays times, people can look up information on their own time and can make their own opinions. You will always find ignorant people in Kentucky, but their numbers are far and few between anymore.
Like everyone else, you will just have to keep your eyes open for those "jerry springer" types! They are the ignorant people and everyone will be having trouble with them (not just you!). Have you ever watched the Canadian Show "Little Mosque on the Prairie?" It is about being Muslim in a small town! Very cute!
You would be suprised how many people in Kentucky are moral and modest. I think that you would appreciate them, as much as they will grow to appreciate you! PS I think women covering will not be a problem.

^^^The "moral" ones are the people you need to be most concerned with. The rest of us don't care about your religion, color, sexual orientation...

Especially the moral ones with NRA stickers on their pick-ups.

Realitly is, no matter where you live unless it is a predominant mulsim community or country you are always going to stand out and be different. Having said that, Welcome to America. We are all different, with our own religion, beliefs and traditions and we all as Americans believe we have the right not the privelege of being who we are.
It doesn't mean it will always be easy, or that you or your wife will always be accepted by everyone, but it does mean that your faith will take on a different meaning. You will love it and embrace it even more, or you will become weakend by those who simply do not understand or accept differences and will slowly begin to outwardly change to fit the mold.
I am a third generation American Muslim, who lives in Florida ( the deep south ), and I have to tell you, No matter where you live, you will find true friends, as well as enemies.
Hang in there, and always remember that in the end we are all American and will defend our country to the end.

I lived in Hopkinsville for 2.5 years and found it to be the most closed-minded, racist places I've ever been to. Even the people that you would expect to be enlightened were not.
Paducah may be better; I don't know.

You will have problems, no question.
Paducah and the outlying areas are very set in their ways, as well as being "backwoods", and quite racist.
Good Luck.
