Default Moving to Kentucky

I'm moving to Kentucky in November from South Florida. I've been looking in the Lexington area and also Georgetown. I haven't seen a post on Georgetown...any input? Looks like a quaint little town.

Thanks

KyLake is on a distinguished road
If you want to be near the big city you're on track however if a more rural area attracts you look at Paducah in western KY. They are nationally known for their artist relocation program, the 4 River Performing Arts Center and the riverfront. This weekend is "BBQ on the River"! Never better.

I'm thinking of moving to Crestwood or nearby. Any small airports in the area?

Default were just in georgetown

My husband and I just spent 3 days in the Lexington area to scope things out. Just a preliminary trip to see the area. We visited Paris, Winchester, Richmond, Berea and, of course, Georgetown. I definately think it is worth it to you to take a look at Georgetown; it was among our favorites. Good location convenient to both Lexington and Frankfort, reasonable housing costs, and a quaint downtown area. Ranking the high schools based on last years test scores, Scott County ranked 10th out of 19 available schools. Not as high as I would like and that may be a tie breaker for us. Good luck in your search.

Do you mean Crestwood by Lakeside Park, Ft. Mitchell, etc. in Northern KY? I was born and raised in Northern KY and lived in Crestwood in No. KY. If that is the area you mean, No. KY/Cincinnati International Airport is located not far away. If you want a small airport, Lunken Field in eastern Cincinnati is across the river. It's been awhile since I've lived there so I'm not aware if any others have been built. That whole area has just boomed in the last 20 yrs. If this is the area, I'll be glad to help you with other infor.

Precisly the reason I'm leaving florida...plus the higher cost of living over the past several years. Lexington over Louisville..no reason other than it 's closer to the KY horse park and Georgetown..which I really like. My house is supposed to close by the end of next week - Dec. 30...please, please. I will stick it out here until March, living with a friend to pocket some paychecks to help with the move. If all goes well, I'll be going to explore more in Jan. Good Luck to you....and me...I won't have a job when I move up there. Scarey proposition. I just turned 50. I'm healthy and hard working so I hope someone recognizes that. I work for a broker/dealer and want to change direction entirely. I'm tired of working in an office. I want something simpler...I'll groom horses and muck stalls if that'll pay the bills!
