Hi,

We are considering moving and retiring in Kentucky. We visited about a year and a half ago and really liked the area around Horse Cave and Munfordville. Can anyone give any insight or advice of that area? We would be setting up a small farm for our two horses and our six dogs.

Thank you!

You might consider something a little further west nearer the Land Between the Lakes where you will find Wranglers Camp. People come from all over to use the trails and facilities and those that live close by use it every weekend. You might look at the Cadiz (Trigg county), Murray (Calloway) or Marshall county areas. Good luck!

If you are looking for a small, friendly town you might consider Cadiz, KY. We are close to bigger towns with Interstate 24 on our east side. We are known as the "Gateway to the Lakes" with Barkley Lake and Kentucky Lake to our west. Fishing and hunting abound. Great retirement community and a safe community to raise kids. Our schools are all on one campus, elem., middle and high. We have Willowcreek Campground and the Land Between the Lakes has Wranglers Campground. We are having our 30th Ham Festival Oct 13, 14 & 15 where there will be food, crafts and entertainment for everyone.
Houses and land are reasonable but most of all the people are friendly!
Give us a look and Happy Trails .
