Lightbulb Model Lab schools

Can someone please tell me about the EKU/Model Lab schools in the Richmond area? I have looked on their websites and understand they are part of EKU, but what kind of curriculum do they offer, are they public or private, are they hard to get into, do they have athletcis? Any info will be helpful. TIA.

I go to Eastern so I am fairly familiar with Model. I don't know too much about their curriculum but I do know that students that graduate from there have been accepted to colleges nationwide. They prepare their students well. It is a private school, owned by Eastern. Alot of student's parents are faculty and staff members at Eastern. Yes, they have athletics. I do think that there is a waiting list to get in.. Not totally for sure but I am 90% sure..

Many of the parents who work as federal employees at the Bluegrass Army Depot in Richmond have their children attend Model. I don't know anything more specific about it, but do know that they are considered better educated and "in-the-fold" when attending Model. One other thing. I do know they used to, been about 3 years ago, but they used to offer families with lower income a great deal to have a child attend. If you fell in the lower income category, it was only about $1200 a year to have your child attend. I thought that was very reasonable considering they are a private school with elite education.

Good luck and God Bless,
Desiree
