Nina in HD - We really like it here. The culture is very polite, deeply religious, and warm and welcoming too. Neighbors will smile and wave as they pass and if you stop and talk, expect to spend a few minutes conversing. Its very easy to find affordable housing and we love our neighborhood. Our church also has the best family support and new parishioner program I've ever seen. We moved here 6 months ago and I work on Ft Knox. The family support on post and MWR is first class and great schools are easy to find. Louisville is right up the road, so if you crave "big city life" its nearby too. This area might be KY's best kept secret, but with BRAC I think the secret is going to get out!

Yeah, there's always some bad apples and because they're loud they stand out. I love Jox Foxworthy description: A glorious lack of sophistication. The really loud ones always remind me of characters from his show.

He is my baby, my lover, and my friend. If he was 9 years older than me, he would still be all of those things. I feel sorry for you because it sounds to me like you have no one in your life to call a pet name. Could it be your wonderful personality?
A good partner in life is a gift from God. It is not my duty to question God's reasons for bringing me a "newer" gift rather than an "older" gift. Everytime you poke fun at my gift from God, you are actually poking fun at God's wisdom. Like I said before, you need prayer my friend...Several people have already told you in a nice way what to do... I think it is time you listen to them because you are only proving my point every time you post. You sound like one of those "loud" minority of bad people in KY that is ruining KY's image. I hope I am wrong about you. Maybe you are just one of those "internet Rambos" that like to say mean things, but in real life, you don't actually believe in what you say on line. I hope this is the case because if it is not, then KY still has a long way to go!!!

Please note that I also called him "my man" too in that post. I guess ignorant eyes have "selective" vision...

This thread is getting kinda wacky....
I think the reason people are not moving into Kentucky is simply because the jobs are not there. There is NOTHING wrong with the people, land, scenery, etc.
It is OK if some parts of the United States develop later than other parts - there's no hurry...

Hi marmac, this is her husband. We both use the same user name. I hope you do not work for the Marmac Real Estate company in northern Alabama. I think you do being that Real Estate is your most favorite topic on city-data. Whether you do or not, Marmac Real Estate will be happy to know that there is a nutcase on the web posting rude and ignorant comments at my wife under their proud company's name. My judgement tells me I should give Marmac Real Estate a complaint call about you. What do you think?

People aren't moving into KY for one reason: the jobs are not here.
The economy of KY is not great. Probably not even good.
I live in a rural area and I do not see a lot of racism. There are mixed couples here and no one reacts.
So much ado about nothing...

There's obviously jobs here. Apparently you're not looking very hard.
