One of my favorite overnight experiences was in early March in the lodge of Cumberland Falls State Park. At that time, the Restaurtant was on a walk-out lower floor. The walls were glass and the view was of the forest as the hill broke towards the Cumberland Valley. Although it was a bit dreary with gray clouds and a drizzling rain, there was so much life. The Cardinals, Blue Jays, and early spring arrivals fettered about amongst the early signs of spring's return.

This scene can be repeated over and over throughout, Kentucky. I recommend that everyone looking for a bit of rest & recouperation to consider a Kentucky State park during the winter.
