Struggling to keep up with a transient military population the census bureau announced they had under counted the city by approx' 4,000 people last year and Christian County by about 12,000. The new numbers place Hopkinsville back above Richmond and Henderson ( where we always belonged ) to once again regain the title of Kentucky's 6th largest city. Keeping in mind that nearby Ft. Campbell currently has around 26,000 troops deployed overseas who are due to arrive back in 2009 the city ought to be in good shape for the 2010 census.
Hopkinsville 31,500
Christian County 78,459
Hopkinsville,Clarksville, Ft.Cambbell metro 225,661
