I had a great uncle show served as some kind of county politician in Hancock County Kentucky back in the 50's and 60's....had to do with roads and stuff. You probably know better about what that position would be called...I'm not sure exactly what his position was called "Hancock Co Commissioner of Roads or something LOL...
Either way, I know it's a pretty much meaningless aspect of a swearing in ceremony but for history's sake and just for the sake of tradition, I hope they keep it....
