Hi, I don't know whether you have moved yet. We moved this past summer from the Hartford, CT area to Louisville. We are renting for now, but housing is a lot cheaper than the North East, as is living in general. There will be some getting used to, in terms of climate, and being away from the ocean. However, overall we like it here. Louisville has lots to do, and we have found retirement jobs. Like most places outside of the North East, there are long stretches of country areas outside of the cities; not like the NE where there are "suburbs" that stretch and cover the areas. We have found the people polite and friendly, but have not been here long enough to see whether we will be able to really connect with people. We hope so, and think we made a good choice.

Henderson and Hopkinsville both have Blockbusters. I think Paducah and Murray do too. As far as the housing prices, you could buy several houses in these areas for what a New Jersey home would cost you.
Check out REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale and put in the city you want to check on houses and prices.

Murray's Blockbuster closed I do believe, there is one in Mayfield, Benton and Paducah.
