Comparing the populations of a downtown area and a conglomeration of suburbs does not make any sense. I actually think it would be confusing to outsiders / redundant to add another forum for the "lower half" of a metro area, and I believe the moderator has made the logical decision...
I think maybe part of the problem is that there seem to be many NKY people who don't WANT to be identified with Cinci and vice-versa. I think they want an identity of their own.

What's the big deal Mr. Moderator, you are quoted as first saying the above statement yourself. We have given you all most 4 pages of "I's" in over 2 months of chats. We've done our part, now follow through and do yours. All we are asking for is an extra sub forum for NKY. It is VERY diff. from the nati. Easy stuff here.

Thanks

as a n00b -- the Cincinnati forum has a few (vey few) NKY posters. Any one asking a question about the region seems to have Kentucky quickly dismissed as a non-option, mainly due to pure ignorance of the region. Like most people from "Cincinnati, KY" -- in real life and in forums, its just a fact of life that you have to check both sides of the river for anything.

Cincinnati's PMSA:
* Brown County, Ohio
* Butler County, Ohio
* Clermont County, Ohio
* Hamilton County, Ohio
* Warren County, Ohio
* Boone County, Kentucky
* Bracken County, Kentucky
* Campbell County, Kentucky
* Gallatin County, Kentucky
* Grant County, Kentucky
* Kenton County, Kentucky
* Pendleton County, Kentucky
* Dearborn County, Indiana
* Franklin County, Indiana
* Ohio County, Indiana

Anyone in the counties above that doesn't identify with Cincinnati is out of touch with their geography and economy. If you want to advertise the region, and improve the outside image of your home towns, you should participate in the Cincinnati forum.

If a distinct sub-forum is made, in my personal opinion, it should be a direct link to the Cincinnati forum. I do concur with the sentiment that the southern 'burbs of Cincinnati deserve a niche here -- people will end up double posting as they already do however. What is needed is a simple nudge to the proper place.

This is very true. The Cinci posters basically dismiss and bash KY using stereotypes to scare outsiders away. They do this while recommending Over the Rhine as a safe place to live. It is mainly just a few of the regular posters, but there is a strong anti-KY sentiment there. I quit checking that board, because I just end up defending KY half the time.

Default Northern Kentucky Forum Yes Please

I'm from Louisville, graduated from UK and now live in TN after many years in FL. I'm now considering moving to NKY and wondering why I was so myoptic in not appreciating NKY when I lived in Louisville & Lexington. As was stated previously NKY is actually 3rd largest city in KY.

I'm guessing since it hasn't been done, the answer is "no".

Could a Northern Kentucky subforum be added?

Well, WHY NOT!!!

If Louisville and Lexington, two slower growing metropolitan areas, are deserving of one, than so is fast-growing suburban NKY. Boone and Kenton Counties along account for over 20% of this state's population growth so far this decade; Jefferson and Fayette Counties cannot compare.
