Yeah, it was a cold morning. I'm not ready for winter yet. We just barely had fall. Ah the perils of living in a northern climate.

I didn't know that Jesse James parent were both from Kentucky. His father was from Russellville and attended Georgetown College while his mother was raised in Versailles. His wife was also from Russellville
According to the website for the descendants of Jesse James many of his distant cousins are prominent in the Lexington banking business ironically

The then gov. of Missouri who orchastrated the killing of Jesse James was a native of Shelbyville -
His name was Thomas T. Crittenden, who has a street named after him in Louisville; as does one of Jesse James co bandits Clarence Hite
The James Younger Gang commited several robberies of trains and banks in KY:
1868 - Nimrod Long Bank in Russellville
1872 - A bank in Columbia, teller R.A.C. Martin was killed
1880 - A train in Cave City
1880 - General store in Harrodsurg

I never knew there was a Kentucky/Jesse James connection before. That is too cool. Thanks for sharing that.

Supposedly Jesse James stayed at the Hidden River Cave in Bowling Green after robbing a bank in Russellville - the problem is he wasn't part of the gang yet

I imagine he probably hid out in several places.
