It is a small country village that has seen some new growth in recent years w/ several new subdivisions and a Dollar General store and Subway restaurant. It seems like an exurb of Danville- I doubt there are any events right in Moreland but Danville has some.

it took me a while to like morehead, it is a really slow paced town. Now i love it-great place to raise a family, don't have to worry about crime. Get you a rocker for your front porch and drink a glass of lemonade or other favorite bev.

I've only driven through there and don't know any of the people, but I know this: there is NOTHING there worth even blinking at. Danville is just 10 miles north, offers country/rural serenity and enough stores to hold you over with the sophistication of a well-respected liberal arts college and excellent performing arts center at a bargain Midwestern price.
If work in or within 2-3 miles of Moreland, then, sure, I can understand you wanting to move there. But, Danville is a small regional hub, of sorts, and if you work anywhere within a 15 mile radius of the city (which Moreland is,) you might as well live in Danville. |
