I believe I said there was nice areas in Hopkinsville ... I also said I lived there until recently for 13 years, so I think I'm in a better position to know the town and than a passer through.

Most of the nice areas are outside the city limits, but not all. These does not negate the fact that if you have school age children you'll need to send them to a private school if you want them to get a decent education. Hopkinsville proper has some of the most poorly rated schools around.

TIMNT is on a distinguished road
There are nice neighborhoods in town. The people that live there are nice enough even. The fact remains that the schools are very bad, low acheivement and major behavior problems all over. When you go to Wal Mart you can't get good customer service and the customers are typically rude. Many places in town are the same. Most of the residents of the town have bad attitudes. The minority community has the idea that everyone owes them something. I swear if you stayed here any length of time you would see it. The public schools have added to this way of thinking. There are so many charity organizeations that contribute to this. They need to be told to get a job and take care of themselves. When the economy wasn't so bad you could get a job very easily in town. The factory where I work hired 10 people a week and kept maybe 2 of them. They just don't want to work.

Default It's a great place to live!

My family and I are transplants to Hopkinsville, we moved here in 1994. I have three children that graduated from public high school here and all three have graduated college and are doing very well for themselves. No school system is perfect and can always use improvements. I love this place and two of my three children came back to reside and work here because they love it as well. My other daughter lives near Nashville bacause that's where her husband's job is or she would be here too. It's a great place to live!
