This make me wonder why (far) Western KY is so underrated
The over all in my 3 county area is
Graves 96.6
McCracken 94.4
Marshall 91.1
The school my kids went to scored 112.1 not to shabby.
Yet our growth over here is neutral to negative in most areas.

That's a good question. Western KY does good on test scores, poverty, and income, and yet has only 1 county (Warren) which really has strong growth.
London growing faster than Owensboro, Paducah, Henderson, or Hopkinsville really doesn't make sense.

The reason I asked is that I don't thank there are many non residential roofing jobs in that area. My uncles usually commuted to Chicago, Indianapolis, or Louisville to find work. I have a cousin from Russell County who does steel work (installing steel beams in new buildings) and he also has to commute long distances for his job

well thats ok because id really like to get back into what i like doing, which is building homes. so once we get down there or even before we go, ill be looking into that end of construction. so as long as homes are being built or remodeled, i should be all set for work.

That's good, because there is still a lot of new home construction through that area. There are a lot of people who are moving down there from Ohio and Illinois to retire, because the land is so cheap and it has a very rural feel.
One of my uncles who did industrial roofing in Chicago now builds houses part time.
I have another uncle (my family is huge - my mom & dad both had 9 siblings) who has a small house (2 bedrooms) for sale on ~3 acres with a barn. I think he is asking $45,000 or less.

The small house with 3 acres is 9 miles East of Russell Springs and 20 miles West of Somerset along KY Route 80. It's actually in Southern Casey County
Here are some pictures of the areas adjoining the property
It sits just to the left of the road
The driveway is where the truck is parked
