Default Your favorite places in Kentucky

My picks: Cadiz, Danville, Kenton and Campbell Counties, London, maybe Elizabethtown. Louisville is not a favorite, but it offers what seems like an infinity more than the rest of the state. These seven locales are, in my mind, the only places in Kentucky where I could see my self "gettin' by alright," or at least trying to.

The general southeastern portion of the state is my favorite.

Isolated, geared more for outdoors, plenty of fishing and hunting. Nice parks. 50,000 different denominations of Baptist church to choose from. Close to Virginia and Tennessee.

Smile My favorite place

I would have to say that my favorite place in Kentucky is good ole Frenchurg, Kentucky. We live in a area where it is safe and beauitful and we have over 100 arcres and we are going to sell at least 50 of it. My husband cannot take care of it due to his logging accident eleven years ago.
Sometimes you have to make choices in life that you really don't want to. I hope to get good neighbors when we sell this spring. Everyone who comes to visit tell us how much they love our place. You have see to believe. God does have beauitful places for special people. I hope that when we sell he will send special people are way. Thanks for reading this and I hope everyone gets what that want in life. Life is to short and we need to appreciate it more.

Jan

Wow, that is a tough question...there are things about every part of the state that I like.

One of my favorite areas is western Boone county, on top of the hills overlooking the Ohio River. Hopefully that area won't become too overdeveloped, but it's probably just a matter of time before it turns into Cincinnati suburbs. I generally like the landscape along the I-64 corridor and north to the Ohio River. There are also some nice views just north of I-64 in Bath County.

I haven't been west of I-65 much, because I've always lived in far eastern Kentucky, but I'd like to explore that part of the state more.

Central KY is my favorite region. The horse farms, the city of Lexington and the small towns surrounding it are my favorite overall. There are a lot of pretty rural areas all over the state though. I also love Louisville's inner neighborhoods (Highlands, Clifton, St. Matthews...). The wooded hills overlooking the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati in NKY are pretty cool as well.

WAIT! The Primitive Baptists in Harlan County just spun off a new denomination. It's the Primitive Pentecostal Baptists of God and Jesus of Harlan County. (J/K)

I'm allowed to slightly knock Baptists in non-derogatory fun, I'm a Baptist!

Maybe it's a great place to retire. Since I'm going on 22, I don't see retirement as an option for another, say, 40 years minimum. It would drive me nuts to live there now. US 460 through Menifee makes for a good scenic alternate route from Lexington to Salyersville and Prestonsburg, though.
