Guess I need to get out more ... I thought that they removed them but I wasn't a 100% sure, generally I take the WK to go east and I refuse to call them by there stupid Governor names.

Oh as for links, here are some (far)WK links ...

and while it's technically not completely in KY it's on the boarder Reelfoot Lake in northwestern TN and far western KY is really pretty. I go here all the time the crappie fishing is fantastic and it's just remote enough to be completely alone if you want.

Davart, I didn't mean to stop in Hickman. Actually, I meant Fulton, Hickman County. senior moment here... And only then as a entry point into the state, not a stopping place.

Davart, I've eaten quite a few burgers from Ferrel's in Cadiz and a couple times from the one in Hoptown. My son asked how I found my hamburger. I told him I just moved my pickles and there it was!
While you're in the Land Between the Lakes go to Grand Rivers to eat. There are two good places to eat, one cheaper than the other. The Iron Kettle is one where the food is on the stove and the bread is in the oven. Good buffet. Patty's is nice but bring your billfold! Patty's has great food and advertises as home of the 2 inch thick pork chop. While in Aurora at Kenlake State Park, go west on US 68 toward Jonathon Creek. There is a little out of the way restaurant, the Dinner Bell. You can see Jonathon Creek from the parking lot. This place is like the Iron Kettle where you serve yourself off the stove. The fish is delicious!
Didn't meant o carry on about food but Davart mentioning Ferrel's made me think of those. But Davart and Tom are both missing Kentucky's western most park. Columbus Belmont Battlefield is overlooking the Mississippi River and has a huge chain and anchor that the Confederates stretch across the river to stop the Union supply boats from getting through. As kids we used to go there on family picnics and have fun trying to climb up the anchor.

For folks in western Kentucky, don't forget Tater Day in Benton next Monday! When I was in high school in the 70's, this was one of the lowest attendance days in several school systems! lol

To this day I do not know why it is called Tater Days ... they grow taters there and if they did it's not Tater season. I've asked Bentonians and so far no firm answer from the Sweet Potato story to winter potatoes to that's just what it's called.
