So I've been drawing unemployment for about 3 months now and I just started an internship this week. Next week I will be working full time for pay. My situation is this, I'm supposed to file my unemployment for the past 2 weeks on sunday. Of course I disn't work last week so that will be fine. My job is going through some policy changes and currently does not pay for the first week of internship, however, they said that could change next week when the policy updates go through and we "may" get paid for our hours this week. So I'm stuck bad. I DO NOT want to be convicted of fraud, but I depend on my unemployment to pay my bills. So if I file Sunday for both weeks and I don't get paid for my internship I'll be fine, however, if I file Sunday and next week on Friday they say, oh we decided to pay you what will I do? I'm not trying to cheat the system and get double paid for a week but I can't afford to not file both weeks, hope to get paid, and not get paid by my job and be stuck with one week of unemployment. Someone please advise me. Should I go ahead and file both weeks and if I get paid call the office and explain what happened? Or hold onto the hope I get paid next Friday for my internship this week? Thank you for any help you have for me.

I'd go ahead and call the office and explain the situation. You'll get several different answers on here.

One thing that did happen to me, I was drawing unemployment and like you, worked but wasn't paid yet. Didn't think about it at the time but the job put it down when I worked. All I had to do was go in a pay back the check I had received. No arrest warrant or anything else.
