1. Bowling Green
2. E-Town
3. Lexington
4. Louisville

I haven't spent much time in Northern Kentucky so I can't say much about that region. BG and Etown are my favorites. Mainly because of the proximity to my family and what the towns have to offer. Both are nice sizes, not too big but not too small. Housing and cost of living in both are still reasonable. Well the Lexington area is just absolutely gorgeous so I am partial to that city for its natural beauty. I supposes Louisville would be my least favorite. Its a nice city but I wouldn't live there. I fly in there and spend some time there for the shopping and visiting family but that's about the extent of my time in Louisville.

It's not about distance or vacant space inbetween, but about interaction between cities. Many people in Hopkinsville work in Ft. Campbell or Clarksville and to a smaller extent vice versa. Go to the mall or a retaurant in Clarksville and see how many Christian Co. cars are in the parking lot. Yes it is true that Clarksville is the only one that benefits. They see Kentucky dollars spent there because Hopkinsville doesn't have the demographics to support any major retail or restaurants.

Then I guess Henry County (Paris) Tennessee should be in the micropolitan area for Murray? I mean, every other car in the parking lots at retail stores and restaurants in Murray have Tennessee plates. In the morning, US 641 is filled with cars coming up from Tennessee to go to work. Should Henry County, TN be included in Murray's micro area?
