Default Where in KY?

We're looking to relocate in Kentucky in the next 5 yrs after my wife retires from the government. We live in Maryland now, looking for something with a lower cost of living. We want to live away from urban areas but close enough for work (I work in a hospital, my wife wants to teach in a Christian school, possibly). I was thinking close to Louisville or the Newport area. Would like a place to ride my bike on flat land if possible.

I would look towards Prospect area. It is a bit higher valued land, but there are good deals there too. You'll have the entire Ohio Valley flood plain to ride.

Oldham County (outside Louisville) or Scott County (outside Lexington). You'd be outside of the city but close to it.

...or right between the cities. The only place with cheap land in btw Louisville & Lexington would be Eastern Shelby County, Henry County, Anderson, or Franklin County. The areas immediately around either city are expensive even by Maryland standards.

In Northern KY Boone & Grant counties are growing fast, so land is more expensive. You'd probably want to look at Campbell or Pendleton County

Shelby County is nice also. I'm not so sure about Campbell County however. Not much growth going on there. Fort Thomas is a nice town in northern Campbell County and it's close to Newport. Boone County is just booming, lots of sprawl. Is everybody from Ohio moving to Boone County or what?

We're not looking to buy, just rent. Had enough of being a homeowner.
