Default Kentucky Careers

Hi,

I've been somewhat interested in moving myself and my family to Kentucky for a number of years now.

Specifically, I'm thinking about moving into the area around Paducah, possibly around Eddyville or Murray.

My question is this. According to city-data, the average household income in that part of the country is $32,000/year, or thereabouts, and I'm wondering what most people do down there in terms of work.

I know some people who work as waitresses or retail jobs, but I'm an executive assistant and the jobs that I see for this field pay only about $8 - $10/hour.

I'm willing to change careers if necessary, but need to know what profession or job I should focus my attention on if I were to seriously consider a move.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
