Default Cincinnati to Louisville

We may be relocating to Cincinnati and have family in Louisville. Are there neighborhoods south or west of the city - preferably with good schools - that would make the drive between Cincy and Louisville more convenient for family? Just for the sake of this discussion, assume that housing cost is not an issue - we will cross that bridge later! Thanks so much in advance!

Presumably NoKY, but I did not want to rule out in my question possibilities in OH that might make sense...
