Tell me about Hopkinsville
My husband and I both took the best place for me quiz seperately and we both scored Hopkinsville, KY as one of our top two. Tell me all about it please!

OMG! Trust me, it could be an ok town, but it really isn't at this point. It's ugly and dirty looking!
It's kinda scary that it's even part of the quiz!

Whats the quizz?
Haint nothin scary about Hopkinsville. My old car developed fuel leak so i had to make emergency road repairs at auto-zone parking lot ther one afternoon, tearin into diesel fuel system, installing gasket kit for primer pump, replacing fuel filters, etc. Over a couple of hrs all kinds of car-nuts joined me workin on their own wheels. Couple of souped up Latin Amer low-rider rigs tweakin their suspensions, fellow with pimped out cadillac installed brake pads he'd just bought at the store. I guess folks fearful of Hoptown are those pitiful few scared by non-white tattoo wearin neighbors. That sure aint me.
Campbell Blvd running straight to military base is the main road with millions of chain stores kinda like Scottsville Rd in Bowling Green. I didnt stop to work on my vehicle there because O'Rielly auto parts looked too darned squeeky clean, no overflowing trash cans or grease stains in the parking lot. So followed my nose to rt.44 off Walnut St. closer downtown to what i guess the squeemish would call an "ugly dirty" neighborhood where folks happily dwell as neighbors to one another.
From Louisville area it's an easy day trip on country roads outa Muldraugh, reconnoitre a fun weekend adding a visit to twin lakes region too.
No giant gators yet seen at Barkley unlike this critter reportedly bagged at Rough River.....

Where is the quiz? I can't imagine why Hopkinsville is on there either. It is ok, I guess but I wouldn't want to live there.

I'm in Cadiz, just 20 miles from Hoptown. It wouldn't bother me to move there. Sure, it's got some bad parts of town but what city doesn't? They have a great hospital, good mall. Hopkinsville is one of those "hub" towns. Be off in one of the little towns in another county and talk about going to Hoptown over the weekend. Wife and I have been house looking lately. Saw some good affordable houses there too!

A good Mall??? ... Where? Bradford Square? How many store's are empty in it now?
A good Hospital JSMC? That stands for "Just Sell Me a Casket".
Dude I'm glad you like Hop town, I lived there about 14 year and happiness was Hopkinsville in my rear view mirror. The schools are horrid, crime was above average and the inner city part of it was no place to be at night, a lot of drugs.
Don't get me wrong I have a lot of friends still in Hopkinsville and I like a lot of people there but no way no how would I move back there.
