Also is there schools for each city in the county or do they go by county schools?
sales tax is 6% statewide... no special city sales taxes ... yet.

schools are normally county by county, but there are 120 counties and if memory serves me correctly, there are 175 or so school districts, i.e. Henry County where the city of Eminence also has a district. Even Jefferson County has two public school districts. JCPS (k-12), and Anchorage Public (k-8). Carroll Co is only Carroll County

Carrollton...yuck! I've been there three times for school events, and I find the town very gross. I've only seen it from KY 227 and US 42 (the main thoroughfares through town,) though. Nevertheless, I have always found the town, including its General Butler State Park to be scroungy and poorly-kept. It is in NO WAY whatsoever a place I would live.

As for what another poster said, charm in Carrollton? Point me out to it!

What about Oldham County, Trimble County, Henry County? Is the whole region like this in your opinion? From the pictures I seen of Carrollton it looks very nice. Maybe I'm wrong?

Oldham County ismuch more upscale and suburbanish with more subdivisions and soccer moms. Henry County is probably more pristine and beautiful. carrolton is not too impressive but right nearby is Madison, IN, which IS impressive for being a beautiful, historic small town.

Basically, yes. But there is no real little town in trimble. It is all rural and everone knows each other's business, with little in migration.

Thanks for the help. I think Henry county sounds beautiful. Does anyone have any pictures of that region of Kentucky?

Go to my firm's website: Oldham County Real Estate, Homes for sale, we can help you find a home or sell your home click on the visual tours logo (top right) and then pick and choose the various scenes of Oldham County in July 2007. There are several tours which are not for our listings, but are simply tours of the area's churches, scenery, schools, etc.
