Default I hope Paducah LOSES the quilt show...

...so I can stop hearing about the damn Executive Inn falling apart. Here's a brilliant idea...if the building is not up to code, SHUT IT DOWN!!! I can't wait until Paducah loses the show right after they build that fancy new hotel they are planning.

Like I've said before, dad. Are you trying to get the job of western Kentucky Welcome Wagon President? If you check the papers the owner has already got contractors lined up to make all the changes needed. And there were hardly any complaints from the quilters staying there, according to yesterday's Paducah Sun.

No I just love quilts, they are beautiful. As a matter of fact, I love just about anything handcrafted.

Missy, that quilting museum is really something, isn't it? Haven't been in a few years but was amazed at some of the quilts.
We took some friends to Paducah sight seeing the weekend before the convention. Glad we didn't wait a few days. Wouldn't have been able to see as much! lol

Funny...WPSD ran a story that contradicts what the Paducah Sun printed.

City Reads Executive Inn Complaints - NewsChannel 6 WPSD

I love quote Paxton provides in the story. Sounds EXACTLY what he said last year and the year before and year before...

Want the fix for the Executive Inn??? Her ya go:

Ok I don't get this.....A quilt show in a hotel and you want it shut down?

The quilt show is not in the hotel. It is adjacent to the hotel in the tiny convention center the city built. Anywho, each year the quilt show rolls around, all you ever seem to hear in the local news is how badly the Executive Inn looks and how many repairs have not been made, etc, etc. I was saying in my initial post, that if you get rid of the quilt show, maybe we can stop hearing about a hotel that should have been imploded years ago.

By the way, the new hotel that is being proposed downtown is not a very smart business move. If Paducah loses the quilt show (they threaten to pull out every year), that hotel will become a blunder of massive proportions. The new hotel will be isolated from the interstate, the airport (what's left of it), mainstream shopping, etc. You will then have one brand new hotel with no one in it and one massive rundown hotel to compliment it...oh...also with no one in it. But hey, that's the way Paducah rolls.
