For fishing on Ky. Lake and Lake Barkley, I go to Land Between The Lakes | HOME . Click "skip movie" on the first page. Then go to recreation, then fishing, then fishing report.
My problem with fishing? I love it and go often, but I think the fish know me and swim the opposite direction when my hook hits the water! lol

Thx you two for posting these sites. I bookmarked them so I can research where I might want to go. I love to fish but don't like to eat them so I return them back. I used to fish with my ex in various bass boats when bought over time. Now I think the shore will be fine.

The website says:

That looks like Louisville to me!

Likin to hike and wade the rivers, am waitin for outdoor temps to rise a bit more first..... Then mostly like to be casting for trout. Lesser known fact: Cumberland River below Wolf Creek Dam = some of the best trout fishing south of Pennsylvania chaulk streams. Reconnoitre cold water source below the dam, even in August with gin-clear water thats only waist high deep and hikable from shore at places. For me the ultimate best way to beat the heat on hot summer days. But i agree trout are lousy to eat with pulpy flesh compared with bass or catfish. I like throwin trout back - no finer sport than trickin em with dry flies on surface though.

Also should be excellent next coupla months at Otter Creek with long lingering cold weather Springtime and lotsa rain, all the indications of very good year for fishing.

Jefferson Co is loaded with little lakes/ ponds that are stocked with bluegill, bass, and catfish that provide some decent weekday fishing. The Fisherman's Park at Taylorsville Rd & I-265 alone has SIX lakes.
I don't understand why Lexington only has ONE public lake in the entire city.

Last time I went fishing, I got outdone by my dog, who caught a 5 foot long Black Snake all by herself

Coyote, there is a trout stream here in Trigg County. The state stocks it every few weeks I think. I bought a trout stamp one time and that was the closest I got to a trout! lol Somebody told me to best time to catch them there is when they stock it. Said there are fishing poles on the banks ready to catch them almost as soon as they hit the water.
