I just moved here from GA last Sat. I love it here in Murray. It is a great town! I am a single mom and the school systems, city and county are very good. I am very pleased.

There are downsides to everywhere...you are correct. If you are coming from Phoenix, then Mayfield will be a perfect fit...just ALOT smaller.

LOL he is talking about the Hispanics here, there are a lot of farm worker and chicken farm worker, most all of them live in the inner city. About the only time you see them is on Sundays. If you live in the country where the taxes are way, way cheaper, then you only see them driving tractors. The Mayfield city limits is about 10% Hispanic, give or take.

That's what he means.

Are you my spokesperson now??? That is NOT what I meant and I find your comments to be racist. Please don't voice YOUR opinion on MY behalf.

I was talking about how Phoenix has been long known for growth (in population, businesses, etc) and that Mayfield recently is growing on a MUCH MUCH, smaller scale. They are getting new businesses, and I believe their population is increasing, although it may be small, which is a good sign for the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky. Most towns in the JP are losing population. Although I live in Murray (25 miles to the east of Mayfield) I would probably choose Mayfield if I had to live another town/city in the JP.

I'm always leery of small towns that derive their self-worth from a high school football team.

There is a brand-new Lowe's that just opened about a year ago maybe.
