Hebron is a nice city, not to far from everything but close enough, you know? You can find a great home in a community, or on lots of land! Great school district, too.

You should move to Smiths Grove it is a small town with about 1000 people in it, everyone in smiths grove is really nice and it is located about 10 miles north of Bowling Green and about 15 Miles south of Glasgow. Both have just about everything you could need.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Shelbyville! What a beautiful town! We have acres of rolling fields and ponds, just wonderful! Our Main Street has several antique shops and we are home to Wakefield-Searce Galleries, which used to be an all girls school at the turn of the century and now is more of a museum/antique shop. We have a Light Up Shelbyville in November and Main Street is lit up throughout the downtown area. We have a wonderful fairgrounds area and we have a Horse Show every year, as well as a quaint County Fair in June. We also have a Farmer's market every Saturday morning at the fairgrounds where you can purchase home grown produce from local farmers, and we even have a great farm you can visit-Gallrein's which is great at Halloween, complete with a Pumpkin patch, hayrides, and a corn maze. Shelbyville has grown alot over the last 20 years, and it does have it's rough spots, as every town does, but we are a close knit community. I love it and it is conveniently located between Louisville and Lexington, the largest cities in KY. Which is great for commuting! Good Luck!

Can anyone give me some info on Beattyville? I like the country, small town lifestyle. I like to live outside of town. House preferable for me and my dog. I don' want to buy, just rent. I like to ride horses thru trails and meadows, a homebody, Baptist church and friendly people. Some four seasons isn't bad either. Farms and ranches in the area would be a huge seller for me. I love all of that. Thanks for any info you can give.

Check out Logan County Ky If you want a very small town ck out Lewisburg Ky or Russellville Ky We have lived in this county for 15 years Its a safe place for a family. But there is not alot to do around here unless you go to Bowling Green Ky or Clarksville Tn. There both about 40 miles from here .Nashville is about 1 hr 30 minutes from our house The economy here is slow as far as jobs are concerned but hopefully it will get better soon .Good Luck in your decision .

bandj, please be more specific in some of the virtues you're looking for in a small town. What do you value--property tax values, great public schools, easy access to primary highways, easy access to metropolitan areas, as far away from cities as possible, more lax zoning regulations...?
There are a lot of options and regions in Kentucky. Kentucky is almost like eight different states in terms of regional attitudes, identities and cultures. We range from very Southern to just plain hillbilly to more Midwestern than you would expect, depending on the region.

Bardstown, Ky is a great place! It is a great tourist location, the city itself is very clean as a result. The people are very nice, and you are only a short 45 minute drive from Louisville. I know a lot of people that work in the health care industry that live in this area.
