Question "Retiring" to Bowling Green KY

My dad is looking to "retire" to Bowling Green, Kentucky. He claims to have done his research and plans to go through with things in the next 12-15 months.

I'm afraid he's looking at numbers and not getting any opinions from actaul people

Does anyone have anything to share? The good, the bad, or the ugly of Bowling Green, KY?

PS- He's lived his whole life in Ohio; his wife was born in WV but has also spent most of her life in Ohio. Think this might be a good fit?

What is he looking for exactly?
Bowling Green is your typical college town.
Shopping is fantastic.
There are a lot of good restaurants.
Traffic can be a bear at times.

He's basically looking for something that reminds him of "home"... from what you wrote KYhummingbird and some of the other threads I've read, it sounds like Bowling Green might just fit that.

Thanks for the tidbits of info though, it's appreciated!
