Default Pikeville?

Hello,

I am in my thirties and independently wealthy. I grew up in a small town in Texas and have spent much of my years in a mid size town in Virginia. Over the years I have spent a good amount of time in southern WV and southeastern KY. I've always thought Pikeville, KY would be a nice place to settle down for a bit. I did search on this forum and read a few threads about the area.

Is there any dating scene in that area of the state for a guy in his 30s? What is the real estate market like around Pikeville? I have searched a bit on the web for real estate and found quite a few houses similar to this one - AAA Real Estate Services, Inc (broken link) I take it houses similar to that one are not selling very well in the area? I travel two weeks out of each month so I would only be living in Pikeville for two weeks each month.

Any thoughts on a mid thirties single guy moving there?

That's a beautiful home, looks like it has very nice views. Pikeville is a small town but it's really nice.

BizTrvler..That home is in Chloe Ridge, a gated community on top of a mountain overlooking the town..The scenery is spectacular from there..You may also want to check for houses in Quail Ridge and and a few other subs with similar homes..I am not in real estate, but I do know that homes like this are moving slow all over the country...I really haven't noticed as many foreclosures in this area as there are elsewhere in the country..Pikeville is a small town with a great 4 year college and a community college, a new Civic Center and a large and growing Medical Center..We have good new 4 lane highways to Charleston W.Va and beyond and to the Tennessee and Virginia State lines..As far as the single life goes..I have no idea, since that is ancient history for me However, I am sure you will meet people who know people once you settle in If you are interested in outdoor sporting, we have 4 wheel trails, nearby Jenny Wiley State Park, which has boating and the Jenny Wiley Theater. The Breaks (also known as the Grand Canyon of the South) has many activities including white water rafting, trail hikes and I think they have horse back trails..In the fall and winter there is plenty of hunting..I just heard today that the black bear population has made a remarkable comeback and they are considering a season in a couple years..I would rather shoot our wildlife with a camera..

Actually, houses of all price range are still selling well in Pikeville.
The house you pasted is pending now.
You did indeed find the right realtor for the area....AAA Real Estate Services is THE Top Real Estate Co.
