I'm likely moving to Kentucky (louisville) next year. I'm interested in Western Kentucky University (online mostly) b/c they will take most of my VA comm college credits. Does anyone have any idea of the reputation of this school? Is it at least decent?

As with all Universities, WKU has certain degrees that are considered excellent, while others are less than the best. An example of a highly touted program at WKU is Journalism. WKU is also noted for its education department.

WKU is a great school. I am an alumni and my son goes there now. It has really grown in the last few years. Since it has 18,000 students, it is not a small college but still you are not just a number. They have tours all of the time so you might want to do one of those.

I really enjoyed attending WKU (journalism program). I appreciated the smaller class sizes and being able to connect with my instructors easily if I had questions. Prior to switching majors, I attended Purdue University, which had more than 35,000 students at the time. Some of my lecture-style classes there were attended by 500+ students.

Also, I think Western has a very attractive campus. I really need to take trip back there soon--I think it's been 15 years since I last set foot in Bowling Green.

Wonder which catergory would business or finance be in? The excellent, the less, or middle of the road?

Since I was quoted, I will reply. Unfortunately, I don't have a solid opinion about WKU's Finance Dept. What I will tell you is that WKU is about one grade level (A instead of B) over most UK classes. Now, one can suggest that I am dissing WKU, but actually it is better simply because the professors are more into instruction than research.

I don't know about you guys but, I had a lot of fun at WKU. I had sooo much fun I stretched a four year degree out to eight years!
Those that say high school was the best years never went to WKU!?!
There are probably better business schools in Ky, but Western will do nicely. There are a few reamer business classes like acct. 300, statistics 206, etc. but that is true everywhere. I would recommend WKU.
