Default Stanford v Danville

Hi all - I may be relocating to central Ky and have visited the Danville area and am planning on going to visit Stanford. I realize Stanford is a lot smaller, but my question is, since I am leaving a large metro area (do not like it here) I want to find a quaint, charming town, with friendly people. I know it isn't impossible and places like that exist. So I'm prayin' for direction and am tired of traffic, crime, and unemployment issues. Driving 20 min. to work is no big deal for me..... so any advice on Stanford or other bedroom communities much appreciated. Oh one more thing - are newcomers welcome? Many Thanks.

Judging by your post Danville/Stanford would be perfect! I think you are on the right path, good luck.

thanks guys - it's hard to really know an area until you live there. I lived in Lexington for a year and a half - it's a great city - but I just want a simpler place with nice people.
I have relatives in Rock Castle County, but that isn't exactly what I'm looking for - that's why I'm asking about Stanford.... the feel of the place....

You should also look in western Lincoln County (Moreland, Hustonville) along US 127. There has been a ton of new development there in the past few years, including several subdivisions and a small shopping center

Perryville in western Boyle Co is another small town you might look at.

I really like Danville. Stanford is nice too, with some nice neighborhoods just North of town.
