To be fair, NKU was treated like a 4 year community college by the state, as Northern KY lacked a community college for decades while super metropolis's like Maysville, Somerset, and Henderson had one. Now that NKY has a community college
to handle beginners and non trad students, I expect NKU to become more like EKU or Morehead in terms of campus life
I disagree with anyone who says U of L's campus is very spread out. In fact the only academic building you would have to cross a street to go to is the Speed School, everything else is within a 5 minute walk if the student center.
UK's campus is very sprawling, but it has 7,000 more students than U of L does

CensusData, I can't imagine what you're referring too? Have you visited many community colleges? There are actual community colleges in the area including Maysville and Cincinnati which have been there for many years - which serve the northern KY area. You cannot obtain a professional degree at EKU nor Morehead State. NKU does offer such including being one of the top rated law schools in the nation. Morehead State is also about half the undergrad size in student body of NKU. As a commuter school, NKU also has a large population of non traditional students.
The campus life is very different from Morehead to EKU to NKU. Each bring very different environments to a student's campus and student life.... they're very varied.

I take my daughter up this week for her orientation. Perhaps they'll show a little more southern hospitality during this event and I'll become a bigger fan! Good luck with your school year!

Sorry to bring up this older thread. But I am attending UofL this fall. Not knowing the area to great, would you suggest staying on campus? I would like to have an appt. how much will a typical safe college appt cost a month? I am also thinking maybe one year on campus the next in an appt. so I will know the area better. Any suggestions?
