2 new chiropractors considering move to ky
My husband and I will be graduating chiropractic school and are considering a move to ky. We want to set up in an area with good economic prospects, is safe to raise kids in, health oriented, and will allow us to have an active lifestyle with our dogs and horses. any suggestions?

Shelby or Oldham County. Upscale suburbs of Louisville in horse country with lots of available land for cheap.

Pretty much anywhere in KY, who ever you ask is going to promote their area. So ask me I'll say western KY.

I agree with you, Davart, about eveybody promoting their own area. I agree with western Kentucky but I'm not going to get a kink in my neck worrying about it./ All I usually say to that is welcome to Kentucky!

Don't you think the horse country between Lexington and Louisville is more suitable for their needs though?

Think about what insurance you want to take. More rural areas are going to have high rates of Medicaid (>50%) and many with no insurance or money. However, many rural areas are likely in desperate need of your services. You may find areas with no chiropracters at all or only one.

Why don't you narrow down the part of the state you're interested in then contact a chiropractor in that area? You might be surprised how friendly they'll be and may know of certain areas or cities where your services are needed. It sure can't hurt to ask.
