Question Dayton, KY

So if your driving on the "Old Cincinnati Road" as you go past Highland Heights you go through the town Dayton (which eventually leads to newport and im sure you all know this). Driving through, I have to say I felt unsafe. Is that road (area) unsafe or is it just because the town is old and it looks unsafe?
