Would you say that the typical KY accent is like that of David & Mary on the Amazing Race? Is that how most people sound or are they more "country" than "city" in their accent.
Just curious

Okay - I am disappointed - I am only 78% Dixie! Really thought I would be higher than that - reckon I gotta work on it!
The roly-poly bug question was too funny - what else could they possibly be?lol!!
Thanks Joe!
Joanna - looks like me and you are raised the same, huh?

Kimmiey, I think we must have been neighbors! When I did the "advanced" test, I was 100%! What was funny is that as I took the test, I was saying some of the words out loud. My daughters (who was in the room at the time) understood everything I was saying! I guess my accent is even worse than I thought.........and it's rubbed of on my young 'uns!

I think this is all too funny for words. I grew up in what is called the "MIDWEST" (Minnesota and Wisconsin) but I moved to Lexington last July and my family and friends just laugh their butts off when they hear me talk. I swear I picked up this dang KIN TUK EE accent in bout 3 weeks. It's so infectious...but then again I pick up dialects very quickly. Shoot I don't even try to hide it any more. It is what it is! Let em laugh, I think they sound funny too. HA HA!!!
Take care Kimmie!
