A Reply to bowlinggreenorbust's original question....YES! YES! YES! Definitely register and vote in Kentucky. Kentucky is home to some of the best and kindest people you will ever know. It is also home to some of the most judgmental, narrow-minded and even willfully ignorant people you could imagine. So, your chosen candidate may not win an election in Kentucky, but at least your vote will offset the vote of someone who holds beliefs that are diametrically opposed to yours. Look around BG right now. There are more Obama bumperstickers and yard signs than McCain! If you're a Democrat and you want to help turn Kentucky blue, head to the Democratic headquarters downtown (across from Mariah's) and see what you can do to help!

I have noticed the Obama yard signs, but only in certain sections of town. Do they even make McCain signs? I asked someone that the other day because I am not sure I have seen any.

As long as democrats are still in favor of killing babies, I will vote republican. Some things ARE more important than money.

Katbmom...I'm a Democrat and I am NOT in favor of killing babies. Vote whatever you like, but you are wrong if you believe that is the Democratic Party's position. I doubt you really want to inform yourself. Little catch phrases like "in favor of killing babies" is much easier to grasp than an actual plank in an official party platform. But if you are inclined to read something about the 2008 Democratic platform positions regarding abortion and related issues, I found a great post this evening by Jim Wallis, a prominent Evangelical minister and editor of Sojourners. Here's the link: Jim Wallis: A Step Forward

Good luck and don't worry too much about bowlinggreenorbust...I think she's teasing you!

Out of curiosity, which "certain sections of town" do you mean?

I've noticed Obama signs scattered around lots of areas and hadn't noticed a concentration anywhere in particular. There are 6 or so in the 3 blocks nearest to my home. But McNeill was the only precinct in Bowling Green that Kerry won in 2004 so we might be a little bluer than the average BG neighborhood.

As far as whether they "make" McCain signs, I really couldn't say for sure. He's not my brand!

I didn't mean it in any way as a put down, but I really have only seen Obama signs on the west side of Bowling Green along with several Ron Paul signs. I am not sure exactly what area the McNeil school district includes so I don't know about it being more blue. I understand the Obama signs more than the Ron Paul ones. I was sort of joking about the McCain signs, I am sure they have them I just haven't seen any and haven't gone looking for them. I am not sure either candidate is my "brand".

I still want one of those "none of the above" signs.
