llgator,

I am not trying to say that every democrat stands for abortion, but the party IN GENERAL most certainly does. You might find an obscure exception from time to time, just as the Republican Party has Rudy Giuliani (whom I would not have voted for either), but basically the Democratic Party is very much pro-abortion. I can't even begin to look into anything else they stand for, because for me, abortion is murder... killing of innocent babies. How could I vote for that?

The question I was trying to answer was "How could anyone still vote for a Republican?" For myself, that is the reason. I agree with missymomof3... I would just as soon vote "none of the above", but when it comes down to it, I will vote Republican again because despite other misgivings I have about John McCain, he has an excellent record when it comes to issues of life.

Nobody is "pro-abortion". Democrats are pro CHOICE. There's a very big difference.

This is an issue I can't compromise on either. I could never vote for someone who voted not to ban partial birth abortion in particular, like Obama did.

If you look at the issue from a realistic perspective--women are always going to get pregnant--unwanted or not. There has to be a safe, legal way for women to choose not to have the babies. Abortion is an unfortunate alternative, but a necessary one.

Otherwise, who is going to take care of all the unwanted kids that women have to have if abortion were illegal? Besides that, if it were illegal, women would still have abortions illegally and less safely.

It's a sad reality, but a necessary reality. There is no large, warm and fuzzy nursery that will take in all of the unwanted (very true) babies and take care of all the financial costs.

Good luck convincing yourself of that.

If democrats are pro CHOICE, why would they fight so hard against the bill that would have required abortion clinics to show women ultrasound pictures of their unborn baby before they make the decision to abort? Are they afraid women would CHOOSE to keep the life they see growing there? I can't think of another reason.

That would be the healthy white baby list.
